English manufacturer Aston Martin Limited announced its intention to produce an electric car by 2019 already. In addition, AM CEO Andy Palmer said in an interview with the press that by about 2025 the company is about to begin a smooth transition to electric traction .
In the next few years it will not be possible to completely abandon internal combustion engines, but in five to seven years all cars produced under the Aston Martin brand will be hybrid, which will allow them to travel not only on gas or gasoline, but also use electric drives .
The first fully electric car of the company will be the RapidE model, which is being assembled in a limited edition in 2019. The total number of cars will be about a hundred, so an exclusive novelty is surely bought out on pre-orders in private collections – the pleasure will definitely not be cheap.
The engines and electronic components of Aston Martin are purchased from Daimler AG, but electric vehicles produced by the British will be equipped with electric motors that the company will manufacture on its own.
