Microsoft Surface Mini images reappeared on the Web. In addition, the technical characteristics of the tablet computer were also announced. When it comes to digital technologies, the narrative often refers to the future, sometimes the present and much less often – the past, as in this case. In the photographs, there is an illustration of a recent page in the history of computer technology, which has never been embodied in a real product.
However interesting were the digital devices on the market – tablets and smartphones, those that never saw the light, in a certain sense, even more interesting. After all, they show the direction in which technology did not develop.
It was expected that in May 2014, Microsoft will be pleased with two of its new tablets – Surface Pro 3 and Surface Mini. But in the end Surface Mini never saw the light. Earlier on the Web, images of this and non-debuting device have already appeared
And more recently, Evan Blass on his Twitter account @evleaks also posted Surface Mini images and technical specifications that the tablet would have had if it were released to the market. The new images show Surface Mini in a red case. Assumed and other colors of the device – black and blue.
The tablet could be characterized by a 7.5-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1440 pixels and a 4: 3 aspect ratio. Its chipset would be Snapdragon 800, equipped with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 330 graphics processor.
On the back of the device it was planned to place its 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus and support for shooting video with a resolution of 1080p, while on the front panel, which was not represented by Microsoft, there would be a 2.1-megapixel self-camera, which would also shoot 1080p-video. In addition, the tablet would be equipped with two microphones and stereo speakers.
Among its sensors are ambient light sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer. Surface Mini from Microsoft would be equipped with a Micro USB port and a microSD card slot, as well as a headphone jack.
Two versions of the tablet in question were planned. In one of them, 1 gigabyte of RAM would be combined with a 32-gigabyte built-in storage. The second version of the device would be equipped with a 64-gigabyte built-in storage and two gigabytes of RAM. The Surface Pen stylus would be included in the package of the tablet, which would be shipped with the preinstalled operating system Windows RT 8.1. The preinstalled tablet software package would include Microsoft Office 2013 RT, which includes Outlook.
